How to choose ergonomic office chairs
Choose by seat height, seat depth and how the arms fit your desk. A longer feature list cannot tell you whether a chair will feel comfortable to you.

01Measure the seat you need
Use a comfortable existing chair as a reference. Check that feet can rest on the floor or a footrest, with space behind the knees. Compare usable seat depth as well as height.
02Match the arms to the desk
Check whether the arms can move low or inward enough for your desk. A wide adjustment range is only useful if it includes your working position.
03Choose the actual configuration
Standard and tall cylinders, mesh and upholstered seats, headrests and casters can change fit and price. Save the exact configuration before ordering.
04Try the controls
Check access to seat depth, lumbar and recline controls. Comfort remains personal; a manufacturer specification cannot establish all-day comfort.
05Check the return cost
Confirm the trial period, return freight, packaging and assembly rules. These details matter for a bulky purchase you may need to return.
06Plan cleaning and repairs
Use material-specific cleaning instructions. Ask about replacement casters, arm pads and cylinders for the exact model before assuming parts are interchangeable.
